TX Eta's Founders Day

For our Founder's Day Celebration I am planning an event with the theme of "Tea with our Founders." We are going to wear sundresses and serve iced tea and cookies. The alums from our local club have been invited to attend. Under some of the chairs will be taped a founder's name and some information about her, which the girls will read and then we will play a trivia game to see who knows the most about our founders. I'm looking forward to this event.

TX Gamma's Founder's Day

In order to celebrate Founder's Day, the Texas Gamma chapter is having a Founder's Day and Scholarship Banquet. We invite many alumni to attend our banquet. We will begin the banquet with a dinner followed by recognition of our AAC and the presentation of Golden Arrows. After these recognitions, we have the candle lighting ceremony. Because we are hoping to renovate our lodge in the future, we are also going to have some alumni speak on the past, present, and future regarding our lodge. We also recognize our actives who have maintained a 4.0 GPA. These girls recieve a pearl for their badge. We also recognize other actives for their outstanding grades. Since our theme for this banquet is past, present, and future, the center pieces for the tables will use pictures from old Texas Gamma scrapbooks.

AR Alpha's FH Module

As far as the module goes, we are trying to incorporate something new each week into our chapter meetings. Prior to Spring Break, I focused on the Conventions aspect of the module, using the hit computer game theme song of 'Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?' and replacing Carmen Sandiego with Pi Beta Phi Convention. Chapter members would dance to the music and try to guess where the Convention I was describing was held and how recent it was. Everyone really enjoyed this and got members really excited about the upcoming Convention. I have now begun the Awards aspect and am incorporating one or two into each chapter meeting. I think that it will be appropriate to highlight all that I can before our Founders' Day as we are creating awards for our chapter. I hope that members begin to appreciate what it means to be given these prestigious awards and look up to those that we nominated this semester for the national awards

AR Alpha's Founders Day

Here is what the AR Alpha VPFD wrote about Founder's Day:
Our celebration will be held on Sunday, April 26th from 2-4pm here at our chapter house. Local and area alums, chapter members, university officials, national officers, Greek Life chapter members, and other community members were invited. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served to guests as they are being catered by our kitchen staff. We will be performing a short skit, reminiscing each of our founders and what they contributed to Pi Phi as a whole. I am also starting a new tradition this year and they are awards honoring our chapter members. Each of the twelve founders had unique qualities and contributions to the fraternity and I am going to bring up members in our chapter that exemplify those qualities and contributions to our chapter. The house will be decorated with wine and blue, plenty of carnations, and scrapbooks and Arrow issues from years past. With the weather, I hope to open up our patio f or guests to enjoy will eating and before the presentation. We are really looking forward to the event and hope to have a good turn out!

FDS-AR Alpha

AR Alpha's VPP wrote and told me about their Fraternity Day of Service...
On Monday, March 2, AR Alpha members visited Root Elementary, Bayyari Elementary, and the Fayetteville Public Library throughout the day. At Root, 29 members read Dr. Seuss books to all the classrooms. The members wore Cat in the Hat hats and handed out bookmark for the students. In the morning two members (one dressed as the Cat in the Hat) made an appearance at the school's assembly. The students were very curious and excited to see them! At Bayyari Elementary, six members performed a skit for about 200 K through second graders. The Cat in the Hat narrated the skit based on the Dr. Seuss book "Oh the Places You'll Go!". The kids couldn't wait to get their picture taken with the Cat in the Hat. At the Fayetteville Public Library, 12 members helped the librarian with their annual community-wide celebration. Members helped to paint faces, play games, and keep the fun going. One member dressed in our Cat in the Hat costume, while another dressed in the library's full costume. After chapter that night, the chapter had our own celebration. Once again, the Cat in the Hat was there along with all the members for fun, music, balloons, cake and our bookplate decorating party. The day went smoothly and was another success!
